About Fylune

The file is the product. The app is a guest.

Fylune is a local-first document workspace for Mac. It gives ordinary Markdown and MDX files a calm editor while keeping the source visible, portable, and useful to every other tool.

Our thesis

AI changes the editor. It should not change who owns the work.

Most workspace software asks you to move your thinking into its world. Fylune starts from the opposite premise: your project folder is already a world, full of useful context, history, and tools.

We want AI to collaborate in that world without becoming an invisible authority. That means ordinary formats, explicit review, atomic writes, and a core editing loop that works without an account or a cloud.

Local by default

Private work should not leave your device just because you opened an editor.

Legible systems

You should be able to understand where a file lives and what changed.

Quiet confidence

Powerful software does not need to shout every time it helps.

Escape hatches

Your work should survive the app, the company, and whatever comes next.

Where we are now

A focused Mac alpha, with clear boundaries.

Fylune is in closed alpha on macOS. The local editing core, resource handling, and document renderer come first. Windows, cloud sync, and advanced collaboration are later work.

That limit is deliberate. We would rather prove that the local file loop is trustworthy before asking anyone to move more of their work into the product.
